The Taft boys’ thirds soccer team is built around two goals: winning as many matches as possible and developing a deep respect for the beautiful game of soccer. As part of the latter goal, we play in the classy manner of all Taft student-athletes.
Coach Lehner and Coach Norledge believe that all Taft thirds players should possess both skill and fitness. Therefore, all thirds practices involve diligent work on the fundamentals of soccer and cardiovascular health. Players use this skill and fitness in small tactical drills that build to a full field strategy of complete team play that will allow our lads in red and white to triumph on our own field as well as the various fields that we visit in our group of schools. We strive to make every activity we engage in fun. As coaches, we firmly believe that if what you are doing is not fun, it is not worth doing. Boys’ thirds soccer revolves around building skill, fitness and tactics, team play, and respect for soccer, the greatest game on the planet.
