Sailing is not a Taft sponsored team; students participate in this program independent from the school's athletic department after an exemption application has been approved.
In the past, Taft students have been granted exemptions to sail with the Litchfield Area High School Sailing Team (LAHSST), a 501c corporation dedicated to teaching high school students in the Litchfield area to sail and race. For questions about LAHSST, contact program director Dr. Ed Kavle. More information on the Bantam Lake Yacht Club is available by contacting club secretary Denis Williamson.
Students interested in sailing should submit an exemption application to Taft's athletic directors.
