Hockey - Girls' JV
Overview
Overview
The girls' JV hockey program has an emphasis on skill development and developing a love for the game. Practices are varied, with a focus on high energy and small games that emphasize conditioning, individual development and teamwork all together. Coach Steve Palmer has been a long-time assistant with the girls' varsity program (including during their three New England championships), and has coached cross country and track throughout his thirty-plus years at Taft. The JV team practices four times a week in both Odden and Mays rinks and plays a challenging schedule against both prep-school JV teams and club teams from around the area.

About Head Coach Alex Rivenburgh
Alex grew up in western Massachusetts and attended school at Boston University for his undergrad and UMass for both graduate degrees. He taught for five years at the Williston Northampton School and then for five years at the Virginia Episcopal school in Lynchburg, Virginia. He’s looking forward to getting back into New England. A fun fact, he’s been a mascot for BU and a minor league baseball team in Virginia.
