Jack Ewing ’18

Working as a marine scientist in the Scripps Whale Acoustics Laboratory at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California, Jack Ewing ’18 spends his days both in the lab and monitoring acoustics in Arctic waters, where noise levels have increased underwater affecting many species living there.

Unlocking Wellness  for Women

Julia Cole ’09

What started as a class exercise at Harvard Business School has turned into a 10-plus state business designed to help women navigate the often-lonely and anxiety-producing world of childbearing. Helmed by Julia Cole ’09 and two Harvard classmates, Seven Starling offers affordable and accessible mental health counseling for expectant and new mothers virtually.

Bridging Differences

Andy Isaacson ’94

As a journalist, Andy Isaacson ’94 has covered every corner of the planet, reporting from all seven continents for National Geographic and The New York Times, among other publications. He is also an instructor at the School of The New York Times, in addition to committing his time to several NYC nonprofits.

Francesca Nyakora ’19

Growing up in both the developing world and developed world, Francesca Nyakora ’19, is especially aware of challenges facing the world’s most underserved communities. After being a junior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, she is now a Fulbright Scholar in Brazil examining the role of community organizations to address violence and instability there.

Entrepreneuring Women

Lacey Hunter Wismer ’95

In August 2020, Lacey Hunter Wismer ’95 decided to launch her own investment fund, Hunter Search Capital, the first female founded investment fund to invest in the lower middle market through search funds and other entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA) vehicles. Women are the company’s target market, and Wismer is excited to see women flourish as first-time CEOs.
