Health & Wellness

At Taft, we believe that nurturing the whole student is essential to their development. Boarding school offers a unique opportunity for adolescents to learn vital skills in self-care, empathy, and seeking support from others. Our philosophy centers on fostering an environment of holistic and integrated care, where coordinated communication among faculty, staff, and students enhances overall wellness. To be healthy at Taft means that students can discern between distress and healthy stress across their minds, bodies, spirits, emotions, and community, equipping them with the tools to ask for help, learn, and grow.

The Martin Health Center

Open 24/7, the health center is staffed by Taft’s medical director, director of health services, director of nursing, and a team of nurses who work together to provide excellent primary health care.

Counseling Services

Taft’s counselors provide emotional support and guidance to Taft students. Individual students meet with counselors in order to gain insight, develop coping strategies, and effect change in their lives.

Health & Wellness Programs

Taft supports student well-being through both formal programs and more informal, organic conversations.
