Shanique Garcia
MS, Columbia University Graduate School
Shanique came to Taft after being director of enrollment management at Oldfields School in Maryland. Prior to that, she spent six years as senior associate director of admission at the Pomfret School. Her true passion for working with adolescents came from her own experience as a boarding school graduate of St. Paul's School and her prior work in admissions at Prep for Prep in her native New York City. Shanique earned her BA from Connecticut College where she double majored in psychology and Hispanic studies. She then went on to earn her master's degree in social work. Prior to shifting into the world of education, Shanique worked as a therapist in a community-based mental health agency and was also a medical social worker at NYU Langone Medical Center.
