Alison joined the Taft community in 2018 after earning her MS degree in marine biology from Northeastern University, where her research focused on restoring coastal habitats. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Bates College. At Bates, she was a member of the women’s rowing team, competing in four consecutive NCAA national championships and earning bronze in 2007 and silver in 2009 and 2010. Previously, Alison taught biology and environmental science at The Gunnery, in addition to serving as the sustainability coordinator and coaching crew. At Taft, Alison teaches biology and AP Environmental Science, and serves as the Director of Environmental Stewardship and Assistant Director of the Taft Educational Center. She coaches girls crew in the spring and assists with the community service program in the winter. She lives in Mac House with her golden retriever, Remy.
