Matt returns to Taft after a two-year hiatus. While away, he taught Spanish as a foreign language at the Alexander Dawson School in Lafayette, Colorado and served as the school and outreach coordinator for Intercambio, an ESL and cultural exchange non-profit serving immigrants in Boulder County. Before arriving at Taft, Matt completed dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Spanish as a foreign language and international relations with a focus on global security. After graduating, Matt served a year as an Americorps member building Passivehaus certified homes in Washington, D.C. During his first stint at Taft, Matt completed his Master of Science in Education as a teaching fellow through the Penn Residency Master Teacher program; led student trips to Guatemala; served a dorm parent in HDT and ISP; and coached girls’ thirds and boys’ JV soccer, girls’ JV ice hockey, and boys’ JV lacrosse. This year Matt will teach Spanish I and II, coach girls’ JV soccer and boys’ JV lacrosse and serve as the co-dorm head of Mac House with his fiancée Kerry Bracco and their dog Griswold.
