John O’Reilly received his BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design and his MFA from the New York Academy of Art. Before coming to Taft, he taught at The Lyme Academy of Art for many years. John has participated in group exhibitions in New York, Baltimore, Columbus, and Leipzig, Germany. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including a post-graduate fellowship from the New York Academy of Art, a Leipzig International Artist Residency, and a residency at The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center in West Rutland, Vermont. John’s work has been reviewed in publications such as Art in America, Cool Hunting, ArtSpace, DesignBoom, and The Huffington Post. He lives in Watertown with his wife Tess, their dog, and two cats.
