Biography:

Roddy Pratt graduated from Bates College in 2018 with a BA in English. He competed on the men's rowing team for four years, winning three NESCAC Championships in the Varsity 8+ and qualifying for the IRA National Championship in 2018. His experience leading wilderness canoe trips for adolescents in Canada inspired him to pursue a teaching career. After graduating, Roddy taught English at Rumsey Hall School for three years, serving as English department chair from 2020-21. At Taft, he teaches Lower Mid English, Upper Mid English, Boarding School Literature, and The Pilgrimage. He also assists coaching soccer and rowing. Roddy is working toward a master’s of arts in English at Middlebury College. In his free time, he enjoys baking bread, playing guitar, and exploring the trails of Connecticut. He lives in Watertown with his wife, Pia.
