Jonathan Gottsegen came to Taft from Vermont Academy, where he served as the director of college counseling. He brings a strong educational foundation, holding a BA in Literature from Colorado State University and an MA in Classics from the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Mr. Gottsegen’s journey in independent schools began as a dedicated Latin and Classical Greek teacher at the Harvey School in New York. Following his time at the Harvey School, he spent 13 years on the faculty of the Salisbury School in Connecticut. At Salisbury, Mr. Gottsegen continued to inspire students through his teaching of Latin while also contributing his knowledge and skills in the college office. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in coaching, advising students, and managing the freshman dorm.

With his extensive experience in teaching, college counseling, and mentoring, Mr. Gottsegen brings a multifaceted approach to guiding Taft students on their college journeys.
