Elizabeth, who is better known as Baba, earned a bachelor of arts in human geography from Middlebury College and a master of arts in Spanish language and literature at the Middlebury Language Schools. She has traveled extensively in her native Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, (most recently Cuba) and has studied at the Universidad de Barcelona, where she spent a sabbatical year with her husband, director of admission Peter ’75, and children, Amanda ’05 and Max ’10. Baba currently teaches honors human geography and Spanish, serves as director of the Global Leadership Institute, and community service. She coordinates the after-school program and works closely with the student-led Community Service Board to offer students the opportunity to become involved in a variety of service projects in both the local and global communities.
