
Mark Traina
MALS, Wesleyan University
A graduate of St. George’s School in Middletown, Rhode Island, Mark attended Wesleyan University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history and was a four-year varsity letter winner in hockey and baseball. After Wesleyan, he began his teaching career as the Carpenter Teaching Fellow in history at Taft. From there, Mark earned a Master of Arts at Wesleyan and served as a teacher, dean, coach, and dormitory head at Kent, Holderness, and Taft, and as dean of students at St. George’s School. Mark now serves as senior associate director of admissions at Taft, in addition to teaching history, and coaching boys’ ice hockey and girls’ golf. He holds The Donald Oscarson ’47 Master Chair and lives in Meyers House with his wife, Edie, and their two children, Caroline and Lucy.
