Originally from Mumbai, India, Sachika came to Taft after an exceptional Juniors squash career, where she was the 3-time Indian National Champion, and finished in the Top 4 of the Asian Championship. At Taft, she was an exceptional scholar-athlete where she was twice crowned the New England Individual Champion. Following graduation, Sachika attended Trinity College (CT), where she received a double BA in English (creative writing) and film studies. While at Trinity, Sachika was named to the NESCAC All-Academic Team, and was a Shakespeare Teaching Assistant.

At Trinity, Sachika was a standout scholar-athlete on their perennially top-ranked squash team. During her career, Sachika achieved an overall individual record of 55-11, and was a member of the 2014 National Championship team. Sachika was also recognized multiple times for her leadership and commitment, winning several team awards before being named a co-captain for her senior year.

Following graduation, Sachika has enjoyed a successful professional playing career on the PSA World Tour, attaining her highest world ranking of #115 in November of 2020. She finished in the Top 4 at the Indian Nationals in 2018, and again in the Top 4 at the Pacific Toyota Cairns International in 2021. Sachika has also served as a coach at various clubs both domestically, and in India.

As a graduate of Taft, Sachika has a deep love and appreciation for the work that we do here. She knows what it means to meet high academic standards, to balance studies and extracurriculars, to carry oneself with kindness and integrity, and the importance of developing close relationships with teachers, coaches, and advisors. Her commitment to service and fellowship align with Taft’s mission to educate the whole student and we welcome her back to the Taft community.
