
Boys' soccer and field hockey begin their postseason campaigns, while girls' cross-country places 4th at Division 1 New England Championships
Congratulations to girls' cross-country as they wrapped up their season over the weekend after they notched a podium finish at the Division I New England (NEPSTA) Championships at Andover Academy. The Rhinos finished fourth overall; only five points separated them from the third-place Andover team. Nearly 100 runners competed in the event; Three Taft runners earned All-New England accolades through top 20 finishes in a field of nearly 100 runners. Congratulations to: Charlotte Murphy '25 (6th place), Kate Cicchetti '24 (10th place), and Rina Kurihara '24 (20th).
More congratulations are in order for varsity field hockey and boys' varsity soccer as they will begin their post-season play on Wednesday. The varsity field hockey team earned a berth in the upcoming NEPSAC tournament with their solid and consistent play. The girls will travel to Andover on Wednesday for their first round of play. The game starts at 2:15 pm. Props to Coaches Ann Bell, Jillian Danaher, and Kerry Bracco-Mullane.
Boys' varsity soccer completed a perfect 17-0 regular season on Saturday with a 6-2 win over Hotchkiss. Already named the 2021 Founders League Champions, they are now the 2021 Western New England Prep School Soccer Association Champions as well. The Rhinos are the #1 seed in the NEPSAC tournament, and will host Avon Old Farms on Wednesday at 2 pm in opening-round play. Congratulations to the team, and to Coaches Ozzie Parente, Brandon Sousa, and Jon Willson.
