Jessica Matzkin ’90 was recently honored with the prestigious Burch Ford Kaleidoscope Award for Excellence in Student & Residential Life. Matzkin is currently the dean of student life and wellness at The Loomis Chaffee School.

Each year, The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) presents the award to three professionals from their 250 member schools nationwide who have exemplified commitment, creativity, and excellence in student and residential life. TABS executive director Susan Baldridge presented Matzkin with the award during an all-school meeting at Loomis in October, noting that “She is a leader who empowers others to become leaders themselves and acts as a role model for all faculty on campus.”

The Burch Ford Kaleidoscope Award is named in honor of the late Mary Burch Ford, who served as the first full-time counselor at Groton School, the dean of students at Milton Academy, and the head of Miss Porter’s School for 15 years.
