Taft is pleased to announce an important evolution in its advancement leadership, reflecting the school’s ongoing growth and commitment to proactive relationship building and philanthropy. Beginning July 1, Chief Advancement Officer Lawrence Crimmins will transition into a new senior role—Senior Advisor for Philanthropy and Partnerships. In this position, Crimmins will focus exclusively on cultivating relationships, strengthening Taft’s global network, and driving fundraising efforts.
This leadership shift underscores Taft’s dedication to expanding its philanthropic reach while ensuring a smooth transition in leadership of alumni and development. Crimmins will continue to play a key role in the school’s development efforts, remaining an integral part of the advancement team. He will continue in his current role through the end of the fiscal year to ensure continuity and help transition the office under new leadership.
“I commend and thank Lawrence for his leadership of Taft’s alumni and development office over the past six years as well as for the partnership we have developed and will continue,” said Head of School Peter Becker ’95. “Under his guidance, the advancement office has undergone generational change. Together, Lawrence and his team have led the most successful fundraising period in Taft’s modern history. Thanks to Lawrence and his team, the work of advancement at Taft is poised for a purposeful and exciting future.”
Reflecting on this new position, Crimmins shared, “This shift represents both Taft’s evolving needs and my deep commitment to advancing the school’s mission in a way that is strategic, sustainable, and supportive of our community.”
The search for Taft’s next Chief Advancement Officer will be led by the executive search firm Isaacson, Miller.
