Girls' varsity hockey begins postseason play, Hawes finishes top-25 at Wrestling Prep Nationals, girls' and boys' squash compete at High School Nationals, girls place 6th while boys place 13th.
Girls' varsity hockey beat Hotchkiss 2–1 in overtime in their regular season finale this past Saturday. After finishing the season 11–8–2, the Rhinos are now headed to the Large School NEPSAC Playoffs. As the No. 4 seed, Taft will take on No. 5 Governor's Academy on Wednesday, March 3 at 4:00 pm in Odden Arena. The game will be live-streamed and can be found here.
Congratulations to Lachlan Hawes '23 on his 6th place finish at the NEPSAC Wrestling Championships. This finish qualified him for the Prep Nationals that were held in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, this past weekend, where he finished in the top-25.
Girls' and boys' varsity squash both wrapped up their seasons this past weekend in Philadelphia. The boys finished their season with a 7–3 overall record, and finished 13th in the Division 1 High School Nationals. The girls had an overall record of 6–4 to finish their regular season and played in Division 2 at the High School Nationals. They finished above their incoming seed of No.7 by placing 6th. The girls defeated McDonough School 4–3 in the first round before losing to No. 2 seed Choate in the second round of the main draw. In their second match of the day on Saturday, they beat Bronxville 4–3, which allowed them to fight for the 5th or 6th position on the final day. On Sunday, they lost to No. 4 seed Penn Charter to place 6th for the competition.
