The New England Soccer Journal just released its annual year-end boys' prep school soccer awards and Taft's own Marvin Sibanda '19 was named a winner. Sibanda was recognized as the Midfielder of the Year by the Journal; he was also in the running for Player of the Year honors.
Sibanda's consistent and stellar play led him to close out the 2017 season with 15 goals and a school-record 23 assists. The Journal points to Sibanda's "skill, poise and incisiveness," and notes that Sibanda led an "electric midfield that could go toe-to-toe with any group in the prep ranks." Sammed Bawa '20 was also in the running for Midfielder of the Year honors.
The region's premier soccer publication, the New England Soccer Journal, covers every aspect of soccer, including the New England Revolution and Boston Breakers, New Englanders in the pros, colleges, prep and high schools.
