Helena from China

Hometown: Shanghai, China

Passion: “Dancing and crafting. I love being around my friends and spending time with them.”

Favorite food in the dining hall: “The pizza!”

Goals for the summer: “There were no specific goals. I was simply hoping to have fun, make new friends, and learn a couple of things. I accomplished all of that.”

First impression: “Great! The campus isn’t too big or small, and the people were all very nice and warm. Everybody there is so welcoming.”

Favorite teachers: “I really didn’t have a favorite class or teacher. All of the classes are very unique, and all of them are fun in a way that you actually want to learn. I think the teachers at Taft are all quite experienced, and they’re just great!”

Favorite sport: “That would be yoga, because after a busy day of classes, it’s nice being in a cold room and doing calming moves. It’s really nice to be able to relax and meditate and just forget about things for a while.”

Favorite memory: “The Boston trip. It was so much fun getting to spend the whole day with friends. Although I visit Boston all the time, we went to places I would have never visited. It was fun to go on the duck tour and learn about the history...They seem like small moments, but they are moments that I will always remember. Thank you, Taft, for this wonderful experience!”
