THE TAFT EDUCATIONAL CENTER has been providing
stimulating workshops for teachers and administrators since
1976. Our exceptional facilities and outstanding teaching staff
have produced highly successful programs in an educationally
exciting environment. Our instructors provide valuable knowledge
in their content area and offer participants a rewarding
learning experience. This summer, five separate sessions will
run from June 30 to August 1. Our Advanced Placement and
non-Advanced Placement instructors bring participants a
new twist and excitement to teaching. Our participants leave
with a wealth of materials and information.

Credit card information
can be entered at the time of application. Purchase orders are accepted but will need to be mailed
to the TEC office before your application is complete. Full tuition payment or purchase order in the TEC office is required. Your application will be held until TEC has received comfirmation of payment or purchase order.
Registration and full tuition payment will be accepted in the order they are received. Enrollment and dorm space are limited. Each participant that registers as a boarder will have a single-room dorm room. There is only one dorm that is air-conditioned on campus. The dorm rooms are assigned by the date of the registration. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
If you are submitting a purchase order, you MUST fill in the contact information for the purchase order to be verified before you will be entered into any workshop. Please do not use your name as the contact person, as we can not process your registration until we have a written verification or the purchase order in the TEC office. You will not be entered into the database and workshop until we have these documents in the office. Please note that all workshops may not be available when you apply. Until you receive an email confirmation of your acceptance into your requested workshop, please do not assume that you are registered. You will receive an email from our office for all correspondence. Please contact our office if you have any questions.
Note: All registrations without payment or completed purchase orders will not be processed until they are complete.
After June 13, 2014, we will no longer accept purchase orders for new registration payment. Payment will need to be made with a credit card to register.
If you have received a scholarship award from the College Board, please email your acceptance letter to Alison Oriente (firstname.lastname@example.org) for processing. You may then fill in the on-line registration form for the workshop you are interested in taking. We will email you the reference number from the College Board for your records.
Please note that the acceptance letter must be emailed in to complete the registration process.
Tuition, which includes accommodations and meals at Taft, is $1100 per week for boarding participants; for commuting participants, $900 per week (includes breakfast and lunch).There is no extra charge for accommodations for boarding participants who remain at Taft during the weekend between workshops. We cannot provide accommodations for non-participants. Please do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets until your workshop is confirmed.
Registrations received in the TEC office less than two weeks before the start of the workshop will be charged a late registration fee of $25.00 per workshop. Please contact Alison for additional information.
Participants receive grades in all workshops and can earn 3 graduate credits per workshop week through our association with the University of Hartford. An additional fee is paid directly to the University of Hartford. TEC provides the forms for your ease in applying to the University. Participants also earn up to 30 contact hours per workshop week, based on attendance.
You will be notified by e-mail when your registration is complete and you are entered into your selected workshop(s). You will receive another email once your workshop is confirmed to run. Information on registration hours, transportation, and directions to Taft are available on-line under the Commuter Information or Boarder Information tabs. A confirmation letter will be emailed once your workshop is confirmed. Please do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets until your workshop is confirmed.
Workshop participants who have registered by June 1 may receive a full tuition refund if they make a request in writing before June 1. All cancellations received on or after June 1 will be subject to a $250 cancellation fee. If a cancellation request is made on or after June 1, Taft Educational Center will accept a replacement participant from the same school. "No-shows" will be responsible for full tuition fee payment. Participants in workshops that are cancelled by TEC for any reason receive full refunds.
